Learning Curve

Background:

We have 4 years of experience in Android App Development and Web Development.  We have done mostly freelance and client's work and some apps of ours.

With 4 years of experience in programming and productive stuff, in June 2015 we decided to start Game Development. At that time we were not aware of so much technologies and fancy stuff used in games. So we decided to choose LibGDX for our first 2D game "Ball In Out". The game was not solid and just a learning experience for us to know how game mechanic works.

We decided to publish the game on Android. LibGDX is great library with cross platform support, but we couldn't get clear vision about it's capabilities. So we again decieded to switch.

After some time we realised there are game engines which can do our job while we can focus on game play. We were hit by a magical game engines BuildBox and we were impressed that now game development is possible without even coding. Their marketing was flawless and caught our eye. As some successfull games were made in it, like "Color Switch". So we gave it a try and created our second game "Space Ball"

Yes, again a dumb game with dumb mechanics and with very very dumb graphics. But we decided to publish this also. To keep ourselves motivated. Ironically, this time we publsihed it for iOS too. In a hope that we'll do something good next time. If you want to give it try, here is the link to download:

We felt a little low after this game but give Buildbox one mre try and published another game "Arrow". We thought it can do something, but without marketing experience and after some dumb game this one was also dumb. This was the time to move on. Buildbox is a great tool but it's not for programmers. It has too less capabilities of doing thing as we wanted. And our less experience in entertainment industry pulled back from it. Again this was the time to sit back and relax. Now think again.

This was a time of something great and here comes a great software "Unity" which caught our eyes. It has coding capabilities through which we can do anything we want. It has drag drop functionality to let Unity do it's work. We can create 2D and 3D games easily. It was perfect for us. We decided to go for it and created another dumb game "Zombie Trip" in which player has to kill zombies. This game has no effect of game :p. Ok this was a try and we were happy with unity.

After this we understood we have to take one step at a time and we went to create 2D game. and created another game "Escape Jump" for iOS and Android. Hopefully this game did well for us and it was high moment and some motivation for us. After this we decided to stick with Unity and we are doing more things in it.

We are happy with all our games, as we learned something new in every step but this game earned some proud for us and did well in App Store. Now this time to create more and more games. We published a new game "Vacate" after this which is doing well. And we are looking forward to create more games and much interesting games. We hope you'll like our games. :)
